Information about logging into a deployment for the first time.
Initial Visit
The application starts on a landing page that looks something like this:
Click the “Launch” button and, depending on application configuration one of the two conditions below will be the case.
Authentication Disabled
If using an instance without login enabled, clicking the launch button is sufficient to get to the main browsing screen.
Default Authentication Enabled
If using an instance with login enabled, clicking the “Launch” button will take you to the login screen,
Login with the default admin password and change it. The default admin password is “admin”.
Use this account to create other user accounts (and then those users can login). See User Management for more info.
Change Default Admin Password
After logging in for the first time, you may consider changing the default “admin” user password. To do so, click on the “Admin” tab and open the “User Management” accordion. Like this:
Click on the pencil icon next to the “admin” username and open the change password dialog.
Enter the new password and click “Change Password”. The next time you log in, you’ll have to use the updated password.
You can try this immediately by clicking the “Logout” button on the footer and re-logging in as “admin”.
